Here is an interesting experiment.

여기 한 재미있는 실험이 있다.

First, kneel down on the floor and place an empty plastic cup about 20 centimeters in front of your knees.

우선, 바닥에 무릎을 꿇고 앉아 빈 플라스틱 컵 하나를 당신의 무릎에서 약 20cm 앞에 놓아라.

Then put your hands behind your back.

그러고 나서 당신의 양손을 등 뒤에 두어라.

Now lean forward and try to knock the cup over with your nose.

이제 앞으로 숙이고 당신의 코로 컵을 쓰러뜨리도록 노력해라.

Most girls can do this, but boys usually lose their balance and fall over.

대부분의 여자아이들은 이것을 할 수 있지만, 남자아이들은 보통 균형을 잃고 넘어진다.

Why is this?

Your balance can be kept when your center of gravity (COG) is over your base of support (BOS).

In this experiment, the BOS of both girls and boys is the same—from their knees to the tips of their toes.

However, they have different COGs.

In general, most girls have a low COG, near their hips.

Boys, on the other hand, have a high COG, up around their shoulders.

Therefore, when a girl leans forward on her knees, her COG stays over her BOS, while a boy’s does not.

These days, many common household devices can understand spoken commands and respond to them.

Moreover, these smart devices are all linked to a bigger system known as the Internet of Things (IoT).

The IoT is a network that allows devices to connect to the Internet and share data with one another.

This network can even include artificial intelligence (AI), which has the ability to learn from past experiences and make decisions based on logic.

이 네트워크는 심지어 인공지능(AI)을 포함할 수도 있는데, 그것은 과거의 경험으로부터 학습하고 논리에 근거하여 결정하는 능력을 갖고 있다.

As more and more devices become part of this network, it will gradually change the way we live.

Someday, homes, offices and even people all across the world may be part of a single giant network.
