Our Nice Neighbors

멋진 우리 이웃들

Mom and I are baking cookies.

엄마와 나는 쿠키를 굽고 있어요.

We will give them to our neighbors.

Our neighbors are very nice people.

우리 이웃들은 매우 좋은 사람들이에요.

They help us all the time.

I give Mrs. Jones cookies and say, “Thank you for babysitting me.”

I also give Mr. Parker cookies and say, “Thank you for coaching my soccer team.”

They both smile and say, “Thank you.”

We all feel very happy.

What Is It?

Inside, it is wet and has hair.

But mostly, this body part helps you smell.

They Are Monsters!

그들은 괴물이에요!

It’s nighttime at school.

학교에서의 밤시간이에요.

Desk, Eraser, and Pencil are talking.

책상과 지우개, 연필이 이야기하고 있어요.

Pencil asks, “Desk, why is your face so dirty?”

연필이 “책상아, 왜 네 얼굴은 그렇게 더럽니?”라고 물어요.

“Some students draw on me,” Desk answers.

“몇몇 학생들이 내 얼굴에 그림을 그려”라고 책상이 대답해요.

“Eraser, why are there holes in your body?”

“지우개야, 네 몸에는 왜 구멍들이 있니?”

Eraser answers, “Some students poke me with pens.”

지우개는 “몇몇 학생들이 펜으로 나를 찔러”라고 대답해요.

“They are monsters,” Pencil says.

“그들은 괴물이야”라고 연필이 말해요.

“Sometimes they throw me.”

“가끔 그들은 나를 던져.”

Desk asks, “Why are they so mean to us?”

책상은 “그들은 왜 우리에게 그렇게 못된(짓궂은) 걸까?”라고 물어요.

No one has an answer.

아무도 대답이 없어요.

My Strawberry Plant

나의 딸기 식물(모종)

One day, Dad brings me a small plant.

어느 날, 아빠가 내게 작은 식물 하나를 가져다 줘요.

“This is a strawberry plant,” he says.

“이것은 딸기 식물(모종)이야”라고 아빠가 말해요.

“Really? I don’t see any strawberries,” I say.

“정말이요? 어떤 딸기도 안보여요”라고 내가 말해요.

But Dad only smiles.

그러나 아빠는 그저 미소를 지어요.

I put the plant in our garden.

나는 우리 정원에 그 식물을 두어요.

I water it every week.

나는 매주 그것에 물을 줘요.

Soon its leaves get bigger.

곧 그것의 잎들이 점점 커져요.

It also grows white flowers.

그것은 또한 흰 꽃들도 피워요.

After a month, I see some small, green fruit.

한 달이 지나서, 나는 작고 녹색의 열매를 몇 개 봐요.

Later they become big, red strawberries.

나중에 그것들은 크고 빨간 딸기가 되요.

My strawberry plant is wonderful!
