Goodbye, Old House!

잘 있어라, 옛 집아!

Today we are moving to a new house.

오늘 우리는 새 집으로 이사를 가요.

Mom is packing things in boxes.

엄마는 박스들에 물건들을 싸고(포장하고) 있어요.

Dad is carrying the boxes to the van.

아빠는 상자들을 승합차로 옮기고 있어요.

My sister and I are putting our clothes in bags.

누나와 나는 우리의 옷들을 가방들에 넣고 있어요.

“Look in your drawers,” Mom says.

“서랍들을 살펴봐라”라고 엄마가 말해요.

“Don’t leave anything behind!”

“아무것도 남겨두지 마라!”

We check one more time.

우리는 한번 더 확인해요.

Now we are ready to go!

이제 우리는 갈 준비가 되었어요!

We say, “Goodbye, old house!”

“잘 있어라, 옛 집아!”라고 우리는 말해요.

I can’t wait to have my own room!

나는 얼른 (새 집에서) 내 방을 갖고 싶어요!

They Look Alike!

그들은 비슷해 보여요!

Frogs and toads look alike.

개구리와 두꺼비는 비슷하게 생겼어요.

But they have some differences.

하지만 그들은 몇 가지 차이점이 있어요.

First, frogs have wet, smooth skin.

첫째, 개구리는 축축하고 매끈한 피부를 가졌어요.

But toads have dry, bumpy skin.

하지만 두꺼비는 메마르고 울퉁불퉁한 피부를 가졌어요.

Next, frogs also have slim bodies with long legs.

다음으로, 개구리들은 또한 긴 다리와 날씬한 몸을 가지고 있어요.

But toads have wide bodies with short legs.

하지만 두꺼비는 짧은 다리와 넓은 몸을 가지고 있어요.

Last, frogs live near water.

마지막으로, 개구리는 물 주변에 삽니다.

But toads can live far away from water.

하지만 두꺼비는 물로부터 멀리 떨어져서 살 수 있어요.

Now you can tell frogs from toads!

이제 여러분은 개구리와 두꺼비를 구분할 수 있어요!

We are at an animal shelter.

우리는 동물 보호소에 있어요.

We are volunteering here!

우리는 여기서 자원 봉사를 하고 있어요!

I clean the animals’ cages.

나는 동물들의 우리들을 청소해요.

I also fill their water bowls.

나는 또한 동물들의 물 그릇들을 채워줘요.

Lily bathes the animals.

Lily는 동물들을 목욕시켜요.

She washes and dries their fur carefully.

그녀는 동물들의 털을 꼼꼼히 씻기고 건조시켜요.

Rachel takes the dogs on a walk.

Rachel는 개들을 산책시켜요.

At first, they are afraid.

처음에 그들(개들)은 두려워해요.

But soon they play and run around.

그러나 곧 그들은 놀고 주위를 뛰어 다녀요.

All the animals look really happy.

모든 동물들이 정말 행복해 보여요.

We are tired but feel very proud.

우리는 피곤하지만 매우 뿌듯하네요.

The Fox and the Goat

여우와 염소

One day, a fox falls into a well.

어느 날, 여우가 우물 안에 빠져요.

Oh, no! He can’t get out!

오, 저런! 그는 밖으로 나갈 수가 없어요!

Soon a thirsty goat comes.

곧 목이 마른 염소가 다가와요.

The fox says, “Jump in! The water tastes really good.”

여우는 “안으로 뛰어 들어와! 물이 정말 맛이 좋아”라고 말해요.

Without thinking, the goat leaps in.

생각하지도 않고, 염소는 안으로 뛰어 들어가요.

She drinks the water.

그녀는 물을 마셔요.

Quickly, the fox jumps onto the goat.

재빨리 여우는 염소 위를 뛰어 올라타요.

Then he gets out of the well.

그러고는 그는 우물 밖으로 나가요.

The goat says, “Help me out too!”

염소는 “나도 (밖으로 나가는 것을) 도와줘!”라고 말해요.

But the fox laughs and says, “Next time look before you leap!”

그러나 여우는 비웃으며 “다음에는 뛰기 전에 살펴봐!”라고 말해요.
