Jojo’s Story

Jojo의 이야기

Jojo lives in a small village.

Jojo는 작은 마을에 살아요.

He goes to school in the early morning.

그는 이른 아침에 학교에 가요.

His long journey is over 10 kilometers.

그의 긴 여행(학교 가는 길)은 10 킬로미터가 넘어요.

He walks on dry land with bare feet.

그는 메마른 땅을 맨발로 걸어요.

Look! His school is far from any cities.

보세요! 그의 학교는 어떤 도시들과도 멀어요.

There aren’t any windows.

어떤 창문도 없어요.

There are only a few desks and chairs.

몇 개의 책상과 의자들 밖에 없어요.

The roof has holes in it.

학교 지붕에는 구멍들도 있어요.

When rain pours down, the students get wet.

비가 마구 쏟아질 때, 학생들은 젖게 되요.

But Jojo always smiles.

하지만 Jojo는 항상 미소 지어요.

He loves to learn.

그는 배우는 것을 매우 좋아해요.

He is happy to be a student.

그는 학생이라는 것이 기뻐요.

Animal Moms

동물의 어미들

How do animal moms care for their babies?

동물의 어미들은 어떻게 그들의 새끼들을 돌볼까요?

A kangaroo mom carries her baby in her pouch.

캥거루 어미는 그녀의 주머니에 새끼를 데리고 다녀요.

Inside, the baby drinks her milk.

그 안에서, 새끼는 어미의 모유를 먹어요.

It stays safe and warm.

새끼는 안전하고 따뜻하게 머물러요.

A crocodile mom puts her babies in her mouth.

악어의 어미는 새끼를 입 안에 넣어요.

Her sharp teeth are like a fence.

그녀의 날카로운 이빨은 울타리 같아요.

They protect her babies.

그것들은 그녀의 새끼들을 보호해요.

An elephant mom raises her baby with her friends’ help.

코끼리 어미는 그녀의 친구들의 도움으로 새끼를 길러요.

Elephants live in a group.

코끼리는 무리를 지어 살아요.

They babysit for each other.

그들은 서로 새끼를 돌봐요.

Animal moms are different.

동물의 어미들은 달라요.

But they all love their babies!

하지만 그들 모두는 자신들의 새끼를 사랑해요!

A Lesson from Hercules

헤라클레스로부터의 교훈

A man is driving a wagon.

한 남자가 수레를 몰고 가고 있어요.

Suddenly, it sinks into the mud.

갑자기, 그것이 진흙 속으로 빠져요.

His horse tries to move forward.

그의 말은 앞으로 움직이려고 노력해요.

But one wheel won’t come out of the mud.

그러나 바퀴 하나가 진흙에서 나오지 않아요.

“I can’t do anything!” the man cries.

“나는 아무것도 할 수 없어!”라고 남자는 울부짖어요.

He prays, “Help me, Hercules!”

그는 “헤라클레스님, 저를 도와 주세요!”라고 기도해요.

Hercules appears and says,

헤라클레스가 나타나서

“Why aren’t you doing anything?

“너는 왜 아무것도 하고 있지 않니?

Put your shoulder on the wheel and push it!”

어깨를 바퀴 위에 올리고 그것을 밀어라!”라고 말해요.

The man does it, and the wagon moves.

남자가 그렇게 하고, 수레가 움직이네요.

“Try before you ask for help!” Hercules scolds.

“도움을 요청하기 전에 시도해라!”라고 헤라클레스는 야단쳐요.

The man nods.

남자는 고개를 끄덕여요.

My Green Family

나의 친환경적인 가족

My family is green.

우리 가족은 친환경적이에요.

We care for the environment.

우리는 환경을 돌봐요.

We try not to make it dirty.

우리는 그것을 더럽히지 않도록 노력해요.

Today we are going on a picnic.

오늘 우리는 소풍을 갈 거에요.

Dad says, “Let’s use our bikes, not the car.”

아빠는 “자동차가 아니라 우리의 자전거를 이용하자”라고 말해요.

This way, we can keep the air clean.

이러한 방식으로, 우리는 공기를 깨끗하게 유지할 수 있어요.

Mom packs lunchboxes.

엄마는 도시락을 싸요.

I put water bottles and cups in my bag.

나는 내 가방에 물병과 컵들을 넣어요.

After the picnic, we bring them back home.

소풍을 마치고, 우리는 그것들을 다시 집으로 가져와요.

This way, we don’t make any trash.

이러한 방식으로, 우리는 어떤 쓰레기도 만들지 않아요.

Our actions may look small.

우리의 행동들이 작게 보일지도 몰라요.

But they will help save our earth!

하지만 그것들이 우리의 지구를 지키는 데 도움을 줄 거에요!
