An original musical from Korea won for the first time at a top awards ceremony for musical and theater on Broadway.

한국의 한 창작 뮤지컬이 브로드웨이의 뮤지컬 및 연극 부문의 최고 시상식에서 사상 처음으로 수상했다.

“Maybe Happy Ending” was named Best Musical at the Tony Awards, which took place in New York City on June 8th.

‘어쩌면 해피엔딩’은 토니상 시상식에서 최우수 뮤지컬상으로 명명되었는데, 그것은 6월 8일 뉴욕시에서 열렸다.

Along with Best Musical, “Maybe Happy Ending” went home with five other awards, including Best Direction, Best Original Score, and Best Actor.

“Maybe Happy Ending” is a collaboration by Korean writer Park Chun-hue and American composer Will Aronson.

The two friends began working on the original story together in 2014 and then received support from a local cultural foundation to bring it to Korean theaters in 2016.

In November 2024, the English-language adaptation of “Maybe Happy Ending” opened in a 1,000-seat theater on Broadway.

2024년 11월, ‘어쩌면 해피엔딩’의 영어 각색 작품이 브로드웨이의 1,000석 극장에서 개봉되었다.

At first, ticket sales were sluggish, but the musical gradually generated positive reviews and word of mouth.

처음에 티켓 판매들은 부진했지만, 그 뮤지컬은 차츰 긍정적인 후기들과 입소문들을 만들어냈다.

Now, it is enjoying a successful open run in the prestigious theater district in New York City.
