운동회는 즐거워요
Today is Hilltop School’s field day.
오늘은 힐탑 학교의 운동회 날이에요.
The popcorn relay race is its most popular event.
팝콘 릴레이 경주는 운동회의 가장 인기 있는 경기예요.
“Time for the relay! Split into two teams,” says Mr. Clark.
“릴레이 경주할 시간이에요! 두 팀으로 갈라지세요,” 클라크 선생님이 말해요.
Each student grabs two paper cups and attaches them to their shoes.
각 학생은 두 개의 종이컵을 잡아서 그들의 신발에 붙여요.
Then they form two lines.

“We’ll fill the cups with popcorn,” say Hailey and Andy.

A player from each team starts walking quickly.

They empty their cups into their team’s box.

Most Americans have a clothes dryer.

But British people prefer hanging their clothes out to dry.
하지만 영국 사람들은 옷을 바깥에 널어서 말리는 것을 선호해요.
They have little laundry space and high energy costs.
그들은 세탁 공간이 거의 없고 에너지 비용이 비싸요.
British people drive on the left, and Americans drive on the right.
영국 사람들은 왼쪽에서 운전하고, 미국인들은 오른쪽에서 운전해요.
So driver’s seats are on the right in British cars but not in American cars.
그래서 영국 차에는 운전석이 오른쪽에 있지만 미국 차에는 그렇지 않아요.
This is because British people rode horses on the left in the Middle Ages.

These countries speak the same language.

But they each have their own unique culture.
